Becoming a Docent

Prospective Docents are required to attend a training program typically held in the first quarter of each year. The training consists of weekly sessions lasting about three hours each over a ten-week period. Attendees are also expected to shadow tours and commit time for study during the 10-week period.We are also offering an immediate, one-on-one custom training for working in the Courthouse Information Booth, where you will meet people from all over the world.

Santa Barbara County Courthouse Docents:

May give tours and/or serve in the information booth.
Are required to give a minimum of one tour or a 3-hour session in the booth every month.
Are asked to commit to serving for a minimum of two years.
